Projects in progress include extending the Silver Bend Hiking Trail north of Miniota, developing additional tourist attractions in this area, implementing a marketing strategy, establishing a fitness centre in Miniota and providing ongoing support to local businesses, organizations and entrepeneurs.

MACDC New Resident/New Business Incentive Program

The RM of Miniota & the RM of Archie passed our resolution to implement an Incentive Program which is aimed at encouraging new residents and business into the area.

The resolution reads:

WHERAS The Miniota Archie Community Development has drafted an incentive program to attract new residents and businesses to the area;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT we implement the following incentive program for one year:

1.  For each new family or individual moving into the municipality of Miniota or Archie including first time home owners residing in the municipalities and purchasing a new home, constructing a new home, moving in a new home, that we provide a grant equal to the property tax bill to a maximum of $1,500 per year for the first two years.

2.  Within any town in either munipalities, for each new business started or existing business purchased by a new owner, that we provide a grant equivalent to the property tax bill to a maximum of $2,500 per year for the first two years.

3.  That any vacant municipal owned lot within a town located in the municipality of Miniota can be purchased for $1.00, on the condition that a new home or business is constructed or moved in within 2 years of date of purchase.
